Inmedius Flexaview

Delivering complex data, simply

Flexaview is a browser-based viewing system that delivers complex technical information. Flexaview enables users to effectively share information by deploying information in any environment.

Flexaview Benefits

Adapting to the Environment

  • Browser based viewing saves on deployment time and no installation necessary
  • Simple user upgrades
  • Familiar viewing paradigm, reduces or eliminates need for user training

Balancing Sophistication with Simplicity

Compatibility with authoring and management tools, no need to develop costly interfaces to achieve end-to-end solution

Economic Advantages

  • Thin client installation
  • Lower client IT administration costs
  • No client database installation or management
  • No client web server installation or management
  • No client XML repository installation or management
  • Deployment and update via simple file transfer

Flexaview Remote

Supports the disconnected state for electronic technical data, providing the instantaneous response time that encourages users to depend on them, rather than relying on memory or intuition.

Inmedius Flexaview Remote

  • Designed and built for stand-alone viewing - All unnecessary technology has been eliminated. Complete operational flexibility for data inclusion
  • Insures data is correct before being deployed - multiple validation steps, syntax and semantic
  • Higher user acceptance of software - “file-based” architecture and not file size dependent, promoting fast viewing. Fewer errors, less confusion leading to a better user experience and more reliability
  • 4th generation viewing technology - 18 DTD’s supported

Flexaview Server

For deployments where frequent updates to technical data are necessary in environments where there is permanent connectivity (generally for Type 2 data), or where connectivity is only temporary.

Inmedius Flexaview Server

  • Single Source Data
  • Filtered Content
  • Integration
  • Real Time Updates
  • Technical documentation distribution and display
  • Incremental data update capability
  • Support for strict military Class 5 standards for Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals (IETM)
  • Integrated training materials with technical procedures

Flexaview Advanced Server

Addresses sophisticated deployments that frequently impact the supporting authoring system, workflows, or require real-time collaboration. Works in conjunction with other Inmedius products to provide an end-to-end solution.

Inmedius Flexaview Advanced Server

  • Portability - Thin client module with a familiar web browser interface: minimized user leaning curves and simplifies installation and maintenance
  • Continual data updates - continuous server connectivity, periodic connectivity or installation of an updated USB drive
  • Two-way data synchronization - review and approval, and real-time collaborative environment
United States Air Force

U.S. Air Force

The United States Air Force needs to deliver the most current technical information to thousands of users worldwide. Even with the utilization of electronic files and network connections, there exist challenges in providing users with this information.

  • Users require views of manuals created with multiple authoring systems
  • Authoring specifications and standards evolve creating the need to view multiple database formats
  • As manual formats change network administrators must provide updated or new viewing software to thousands of end user
  • Each user must be trained to use the viewing software provided
  • Users must always be working from the latest revisions

These challenges must be overcome to ensure success. The Air Force needed a single way to view technical manuals that addresses these challenges. Inmedius (Patent pending) Publisher provides a common view through a web based and ultra thin client design. Publisher serves up technical information in a standard web browser, without the need to install client software. An innovative approach to document interpretation allows Publisher to work independently of authoring systems. Publisher can display documents from many sources in one common view. With the incremental distribution feature, administrators can automate the update procedure to eliminate out-of-date manuals. Inmedius built prototype used to demonstrate Air Force Common Viewer (AFCV) functionality that is compatible with the ETIMS distribution model currently under evaluation.

The “Interactive Electronic Technical Manuals” (IETMs) managed by Publisher will store and retrieve expert knowledge on a query basis, and manage the performance of technicians who diagnose and repair sophisticated nuclear propulsion systems. By using the web as a secure method to access information from any remote location, Publisher significantly reduces the cost for system deployment, and its thin-client, browser-based viewing capabilities eliminate the need for proprietary, stand-alone viewer applications. Publisher (patent-pending) supports all classes of IETMs used by the government, including the most sophisticated Class 5 IETM.

U.S. Military

Using the patent-pending interpretation engine of Inmedius Publisher, different languages of technical data are viewable on the same system. The user interface for Publisher was customized to match their exiting standard, so that Publisher was seamlessly integrated within their complete maintenance system. Incremental changes within the system are distributed from a common repository to all field locations, ensuring the highest level of safety, consistency, and force protection
