RUAG Secures Technical Publishing Leadership with S1000D™ Across Business Units
Inmedius® Software & Services Support New, Multilingual & Legacy Projects
Pittsburgh, PA - November 24, 2008 Inmedius is pleased to announce RUAG Holding Ltd’s decision to implement its S1000D Publishing Suite™ to support S1000D projects for its aerospace and defense clients across its corporate offices in Europe. The Bern, Switzerland-based RUAG Technology Group offers military technology as well as civilian products and services. RUAG utilizes Inmedius products and services to create new documentation in S1000D, and to convert multilingual, legacy data to the Specification.
After a lengthy evaluation of available market solutions, RUAG selected Inmedius to manage their entire S1000D project needs.
RUAG has implemented the technical publishing solution across four RUAG entities and five sites located in Switzerland and Germany, including; RUAG Aerospace AG in Lodrino and Emmen, RUAG Aerospace Services GmbH in Oberpfaffenhofen, RUAG Electronics AG in Dübendorf , and RUAG Land Systems AG in Thun.
“RUAG is an experienced user of S1000D and understands the challenges associated with delivering usable technical information in both paper and IETP formats,” stated Michael Ingledew, Vice President, Europe, Middle East, Africa (EMEA). “RUAG’s selection of our S1000D Publishing Suite further demonstrates the high caliber of the Inmedius solution -- software designed by domain experts for use by technical publications professionals.”
With Inmedius S1000Dreview™, a quality assurance program for S1000D documents, RUAG provides quick feedback to customers, adapting the view to the final look and feel of their customer's display system. The results are delivered as SGML, and converted to PDF using S1000Dtransition™, which efficiently publishes structured Data Modules to common types of output. The software eliminates parallel development efforts to product S1000D and other commercial or military specification-based printed documentation.
In addition, RUAG’s Inmedius system includes; S1000Dmanager™ for project setup and management support, the intuitive S1000DauthorPro™ for creating documents, and S1000Dinteract™, which allows them to rapidly view and share S1000D publications on a standalone basis, or while connected to a server over an Intranet or Internet. The five applications are modules of the comprehensive Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite, a fully integrated solution, satisfying continuous lifecycle management requirements for S1000D technical data.
