Extensive Document Conversion Capabilities Across Spectrum of XML Standards Extends Inmedius Offering

PITTSBURGH, PA – March 12, 2007  Inmedius, Inc., a global leader in providing lifecycle management solutions for technical information assets, announces the acquisition of IConvert software from JNR Associates, a company that provides comprehensive conversion services and products. The new Inmedius IConvert™ solution automates and significantly simplifies the normally difficult or manual process of converting complex paper and electronic technical documents into new, repurposed XML standard documents. These XML formats include ATA, DITA, DocBook, MIL-STD-38784, and S1000D™, as well as other customer-defined specifications.

“This is a very important acquisition for Inmedius and our clients,” noted Gary Schaffer, Inmedius President and CEO. “IConvert will compliment Inmedius’ existing offerings, by providing a full compliment of software and services that address the entire technical documentation product lifecycle. Customer demand is high for an automated, easier path that expedites the initial process of converting legacy PDF, image and paper materials to indexed, structured, and standard XML formats. With Inmedius IConvert, we will deliver a highly accurate and cost-effective solution that is not currently available.”

IConvert addresses the burgeoning use of XML as the preference for technical publishing. Inmedius’ track record of delivering superior standards-based technical documentation publishing solutions, places it in a unique position to offer a competitively advantageous approach to converting information into more usable formats. With Inmedius IConvert, customers will be able to convert information into XML and Web-usable formats at cost benefit ratios previously unavailable to the industry. The managed process supports the creation of XML documents with a minimum of intervention and a maximum of accuracy and consistency.

“The JNR team developed the Windows-based IConvert software to meet a recognized and continuing need for low-cost, high-quality conversion of legacy material to Department of Defense and other international specifications, including the U.S. Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) Variant, MIL-STD-40051B, MIL-STD-3001 and the emerging globally recognized S1000D™ standard,” stated Jeffrey L. Rubin, President of JNR Associates. “I’m very pleased to conclude the transfer of JNR’s conversion technology to Inmedius, the foremost S1000D™ and data management company in our industry. Through Inmedius’ management and software development expertise, and large globally distributed base of customers, I look forward to seeing IConvert’s growth as the leading, most cost-effective conversion tool available.”
