LSI Adopts Inmedius® S1000D™ Publishing Suite™
Technical Publications Production Software to Support P-3C Aircraft Foreign Military Sales Program
PITTSBURGH, PA – February 19, 2007 Inmedius is pleased to announce a multi-year contract with Logistic Services International (LSI) for its S1000D™ Publishing Suite™ and training. LSI, a military training and technical data services provider, will utilize the software to provide professional technical publication and illustration services for its U.S. Government, foreign military and aerospace industry customers. Initially, LSI will utilize the software to produce both electronic and paper-based technical documentation to meet the over 2,000 pages in ASD S1000D™ requirements and guidelines for a contract with Lockheed Martin in support of a P-3C Orion Aircraft Foreign Military Sales Program (FMS).
The comprehensive, Commercial-Off-The-Shelf (COTS) Inmedius Publishing Suite includes; S1000Dmanager™, S1000DauthorPro™, S1000Dreview™, and S1000Dtransition™. Fully-integrated, and easy to implement, maintain and use, the software set addresses every facet of an S1000D™ project to capture, create, manage and deploy technical information assets, supporting the entire documentation lifecycle.

As prime contractor to the U.S. Navy’s Naval Air Systems Command, Lockheed Martin is the mission system integrator for the P-3C. They have collaborated with LSI for ten years to provide the U.S. Government and foreign military customers with technical publications in support of the aircraft’s mission avionics. Considered the world standard in Maritime Patrol Aircraft, the P-3C is a peerless airborne hunter with a reputation as the ultimate submarine finder. The P-3C can be outfitted with a variety of sophisticated detection equipment and weapons, and is able to fly for long periods at almost any altitude. In addition to sub hunting, the P-3 is now called upon for peacekeeping and relief missions around the world.
