Inmedius Acquires Generation21™ Learning Systems
Fusing Technical Documentation Systems with E-Learning
A pioneer in E-Learning since its founding in 1996, Generation21 is known as the first developer of reusable learning objects, performance support technology and true tailored learning. Generation21 continues to distinguish itself today, with millions of users of its browser-based Enterprise offerings. Inmedius and Generation21 customers will benefit from an integration of their project technical documentation with training course creation, management and deployment.
“The need for training is immediate and demand driven,” according to John Stearns, CEO and President, Generation21. “Fusing technical information within the learning curriculum not only makes good business sense, but enables companies to leverage information that already exists in their organization. Inmedius will be in the forefront of a new generation of integrated E-Learning.”
“The acquisition of Generation21 is a natural business progression that will allow Inmedius to better service the needs of our customers by supporting the entire enterprise,” stated Gary L. Schaffer, President and CEO, Inmedius. “We will quickly broaden our portfolio of offerings, empowering clients with an integral link between technical documentation and learning that supports their products and customers.”

Unmanned Aerial System Flies High with S1000D™
Insitu Selects Inmedius® S1000D Publishing Suite™
“After evaluating several S1000D documentation applications, we determined that the Inmedius S1000D Publishing Suite best met our requirements for an authoring environment at a very affordable price,” said Mary Margaret Evans, Vice President, Operations and Sustainment, Insitu, Inc.
Insitu, a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company, designs, develops and manufactures Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) for commercial and military applications. The Boeing Insitu ScanEagle® provides intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR) to the U.S. Department of Defense and international customers.

“Despite the complexity of the specification,” explained Evans, “we found the Inmedius Suite to be robust, intuitive, and easy to use. It was also installed in a matter of hours, not days. The core S1000D principle of stand-alone, reusable chunks of data enables information to be authored once and output in a wide variety of electronic mediums, as well as print. This
will lead to improved information accuracy and production efficiencies.”
