Java Developer - Enterprise Learning
A Lakewood, Colorado-based, internationally recognized provider of software to mid-to-large corporate clients is looking for a senior Java Developer for the design and development of an enterprise learning management system using Java and J2EE technologies. Founded in 1996, our company is widely recognized for its innovative technology, world-class customer support, and environment of innovation and entrepreneurship.

Responsibilities:

• Work closely with sales and engineering teams to scope projects and estimates.
• Work with customer support and account management teams.
• Provide level 2 support and resolve technical issues through debugging, research, and investigation.
• Create technical design documents and lead development effort.
• Mentor junior developers.
• Manage overseas developers.
• Contribute to development strategies, using new technologies.
• Plan, design, code, test, debug and implement web-based Java applications to support business requirements.
• Document technical implementations, bug fixes and baseline enhancements.
• Work independently and focus on client requirements and customizations.
• Be focused and quick learner.

Education and Experience:

• Minimum five years hands-on coding and development experience in J2EE design and development of enterprise applications.
• Minimum two years of leading development teams.
• Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or Engineering.

Required Job Skills:

• J2EE technologies: (JDBC, JSP, Struts, EJB, JMS, Rhino or FESI script evaluators).
• Strong AJAX, JavaScript and dynamic HTML skills.
• Detailed knowledge of Web services using Axis.
• XML (writing and parsing).
• Web 2.0 technologies.
• Oracle, PL/SQL.
• Experience in Ant, Subversion and deployment of web applications.
• Strong Unix (Redhat) skills and expertise in Apache and Orion application servers.
• Experience in clustering and load balancing.

These job skills are not required, but are a plus in evaluating candidates:

• Experience in learning management systems.
• Detailed knowledge of SCORM and AICC standards.
• Experience with Toad.
• Experience in reporting engines and tools.
